Grace Greater Than Our Sin
Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.
Refrain
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.
Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.
Refrain
Dark is the stain that we cannot hide.
What can avail to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
Brighter than snow you may be today.
Refrain
Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?
Refrain

THANK YOU!! I get to have this stuck in my head all day....love love love this hymn! Have a blessed day, Jenny!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's name is Grace and I sing this to her all the time. Perhaps one day she'll understand that it's not quite all about her :)
ReplyDeleteJenny, I screwed up on the code for the button. I'm sorry. I changed the code on my post; it's correct now. Sorry for the inconvenience!
ReplyDeleteI had to look that one up - I don't think I'd heard it before! (Not that I'm the Hymn Queen or anything, so I'm not sure why I was so surprised to hear a new hymn.) It's lovely, thanks for posting it. xo
ReplyDeleteNice post. We sing a lot of the old stuff in our church but I don't know if I remember this one. I liked reading through the words. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this hymn. Thank you!
